Embark on a 8-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho Route. Enjoy the scenic views and changing landscapes as you make your way to the top of Africa's highest peak.
Day 1: Londorossi Gate (2,100m) to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp) (2,780m)
After registration at Londorossi Gate, the trek begins in the lush rainforest, passing through dense vegetation with chances of spotting wildlife like monkeys and birds. You’ll arrive at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp) for your first night.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa (2,780m) to Shira 1 Camp (3,500m)
The trek continues as the landscape changes from the rainforest to moorland. You’ll hike over the Shira Plateau, a beautiful high-altitude desert, and camp at Shira 1 Camp.
Day 3: Shira 1 Camp (3,500m) to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)
This is a short day, allowing you to acclimatize gradually. The walk across the Shira Plateau is relatively easy with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro's glaciated peak in the distance. Camp at Shira 2 Camp.
Day 4: Shira 2 Camp (3,850m) to Barranco Camp (3,950m) via Lava Tower (4,640m)
This day helps with acclimatization as you ascend to Lava Tower (4,640m), a major milestone. After reaching Lava Tower, you'll descend into the Barranco Valley, passing by giant Senecio plants before camping at Barranco Camp.
Day 5: Barranco Camp (3,950m) to Karanga Camp (4,035m)
After breakfast, you’ll tackle the Barranco Wall, a steep but non-technical climb. This is one of the more exciting parts of the route. After summiting the wall, you’ll continue to Karanga Camp, which offers spectacular views.
Day 6: Karanga Camp (4,035m) to Barafu Camp (4,673m)
A short day that leads to the base camp, Barafu, where you’ll rest and prepare for the summit attempt. You’ll have an early dinner and rest, as the summit attempt starts around midnight.
Day 7: Barafu Camp (4,673m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Mweka Camp (3,068m)
Summit day begins around midnight, with a challenging trek to Stella Point (5,739m), followed by a final ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After taking in the views and photos, you’ll descend all the way down to Mweka Camp.
Day 8: Mweka Camp (3,068m) to Mweka Gate (1,640m)
The final descent takes you back through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate before being transported back to your hotel.
