Description
Embark on a 6-day trek up Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route. Enjoy stunning views, cozy huts, and the thrill of summiting Africa's highest peak.
Begin your adventure with a transfer to Marangu Gate. While porters pack and you register with Tanzania National Parks, prepare for a 3-4 hour ascent through the rainforest. Expect rain, mud, fog, and wildlife like colobus monkeys. Reach Mandara Hut, with solar-lit bunk rooms, flush toilets, boiled water, snacks, and dinner. Nighttime temperatures can freeze, so pack warm layers.
The next day, after breakfast, trek moderately to Horombo Hut. Enjoy panoramic views of Kibo and Mawenzi. After lunch, do a 200-meter acclimatization hike toward Kibo Hut, then return for dinner.
On day 3, rest and acclimate. Take an optional guided day hike to Mawenzi Hut (4,600 m). Meals are at the hut or packed lunch per preference.
On day 4, ascend through the alpine desert via two trails: the shorter, popular lower path (left fork) or upper path (right fork, 1 hour longer). Kibo Hut sits in the "Saddle" between Mawenzi and Kibo. No water is available (buy bottled at the office). Enjoy an early dinner, summit briefing, and rest by 7:00 PM.
On day 5, wake at 11:30 PM for tea and biscuits. Begin your summit push: rocky to Hans Meyer Cave (5,150 m), steep to Gillman's Point (5,681 m) on the crater rim, then snow to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Celebrate with photos and tea before a 3-hour descent to Kibo Hut for lunch and rest. Continue to Horombo Hut for dinner.
On the final day, enjoy breakfast and a staff celebration with dancing and singing. Tip your team here. Descend 6 hours to Marangu Gate, sign for certificates (green for Gillman's Point, gold for Uhuru Peak). Transfer to Moshi for showers and festivities.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
