Embark on a 7-day Kilimanjaro climb via the Rongai route. Trek through diverse landscapes, camp under the stars, and reach the summit of Africa’s highest peak.
Day 1: Moshi to Rongai Gate to First Cave/Simba Camp
Start your adventure with a morning pickup from Moshi town. Drive to Rongai Gate, where your porters will collect your luggage. Begin your hike through the cypress plantations of the montane forest, keeping an eye out for colobus monkeys and bird species. After a 3 to 4-hour hike covering 6.5 kilometers, reach the First Cave Camp.
Day 2: First Cave/Simba Camp to Second Cave Camp
Enjoy breakfast at the camp before hiking to the Second Cave Camp. Trek through the Moorland zone, taking in stunning views of the Kibo cone and the eastern ice fields of the crater rim. After a 3 to 5-hour hike covering 5 kilometers, arrive at the Second Cave Camp for your overnight stay.
Day 3: Second Cave Camp to Kikelewa Camp
Continue your trek through the moorland forest, enjoying views of the Kibo and Mawenzi cones with the eastern ice field. After a 3 to 4-hour hike covering 9 kilometers, reach the Kikelewa Camp for your meals and camping.
Day 4: Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Take an extra day for acclimatization. Hike through steep slopes, passing the last plants before entering the alpine desert. After a 3 to 4-hour hike covering 6 kilometers, reach the Mawenzi Tarn Camp for your overnight stay at the base of the Mawenzi cone.
Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Camp
Embark on a long climb from Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Camp. Walk on small ridges in the alpine desert between the Kibo and Mawenzi cones. After a 4 to 5-hour hike covering 9 kilometers, reach the Kibo Camp, your last camp before the summit.
Day 6: Summit and Descend to Kibo then to Horombo
Begin your summit attempt at midnight, climbing steep scree or snow to Gilman’s Point on the crater rim. Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend through the Marangu route, stopping at Kibo Hut for lunch before continuing to Horombo for your overnight stay.
Day 7: Horombo to Marangu Gate and Back to Moshi
After breakfast at Horombo, trek down to Marangu Gate, passing through the Mandara Hut. Meet your porters at the gate and return to Moshi, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro adventure.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
