Your Journey Begins
Your adventure starts with a morning pickup from your hotel in Moshi after breakfast. Enjoy a scenic drive to Marangu Village on the eastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival at Marangu Gate (1,980 meters), you will complete park registration before beginning your hike.
Into the Rainforest
Step onto a well-maintained trail that winds through lush rainforest filled with towering eucalyptus trees and rich vegetation. Keep an eye out for colorful birdlife and playful black-and-white colobus monkeys moving through the canopy. The cool mountain air and shaded forest paths make for a comfortable and enjoyable trek.
The Marangu Route is one of the oldest and most established paths on Kilimanjaro, offering both historical and ecological insight into this iconic mountain.
Mandara Hut & Maundi Crater
Your hike leads to Mandara Hut, a resting point surrounded by forest. From here, you can take a short side trip to Maundi Crater, where you may enjoy panoramic views of Northern Tanzania and even neighboring Kenya on a clear day. The scenery shifts as you gain elevation, offering glimpses of moorland landscapes beyond the forest.
After enjoying a packed lunch, you will begin your descent back to Marangu Gate.
Return to Moshi
In the afternoon, meet your driver for the return journey to Moshi. You will arrive at your hotel in the early evening with a head full of memories and a camera full of unforgettable photos from the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
