Description
Visit Nabeul and its pottery, the harbor of Kelibia, the ruins of Kerkouane (UNESCO), and explore the caves of Haouaria.
After pickup from your hotel in Tunis or Hammamet, start your day trip with a visit to the Nabeul Archeological Museum. Known as Neapolis in ancient times, the city of Nabeul was founded in the 5th century BC. Although the museum is modest in size, it boasts an impressive collection of mosaics and rare objects from various archaeological sites in the Cape Bon region. It was renovated in 2003.
Next, head to Kelibia to explore its fortress, one of the most important monuments of Cape Bon. Built on a massive rock 150 meters high, it is the largest and best-preserved Muslim fortress in Tunisia. Enjoy spectacular views of the fortress from the nearby harbor of Kelibia, which is the fourth largest fishing port in Tunisia.
Continue to the ruins of Kerkouane, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These artificial caves were dug by prisoners and slaves under the Carthaginians and Romans, and the blocks of stone that were extracted were shipped by sea to Carthage, on the other side of the Gulf of Tunis.
Towards the end of the tour, enjoy a hiking tour along Korbous to visit the natural hot baths. Then, return to your hotel.
