Uganda: 3-Day Gorilla Trekking and Lake Bunyonyi Budget Tour

Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Kampala. Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, enjoying the scenic views along the way. Stop at the Uganda Equator for photos and a water experiment. Continue to Mbarara town for lunch before heading to the park for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, head to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters in the Rushaga sector. Receive a briefing from a ranger guide on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Hike into the forest to find the gorillas, a journey that may take a few hours or a full day. Spend one hour with the gorillas, taking photos and observing them in their natural habitat. After the trek, travel to Lake Bunyonyi for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi and Return to Kampala

Enjoy a morning boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake. Visit some of the 29 islands and spot various water birds. After the cruise, return to Kampala, stopping at the Uganda Equator for more photos and a local water experiment. Have lunch en route before continuing to Kampala or Entebbe Airport for your departure.
