Our Original Uncomfortable Cambridge™ Tour covers the general history and main sites in the city centre, which highlighting histories of race, class, and gender. Together, we question traditional narratives and examine modern controversies surrounding statues, names, colonial objects, and the legacy of imperilaism in the city and university.
Led by university researchers, this tour highlights underrepresented histories and provides a new way of reading the city landscape. Please note the tour does not go inside of any colleges.
*Accessibility:*
Mostly flat terrain, but with some cobblestoned streets. No steps, but one ramp on/off a bridge. Wheelchair accessible, with spaces to sit or lean if needed. Carers attend free, no booking required. Toilets available in local pubs along the route.
