Take in the stunning Highland locations made famous by the Harry Potter and James Bond film series on a full-day trip from Glasgow. Pass famous landmarks such as Loch Lomond
Departing from Glasgow in the morning, the journey heads north with a brief stop for refreshments in the town of Luss on the banks of Loch Lomond, before continuing to Glencoe. Glencoe is a well-known glen in Scotland and features in the film 'Skyfall.' Visitors can spend time exploring the area, taking photographs, and learning about the history of the Massacre of Glencoe. The route proceeds through the highlands to Fort William, where we stop for lunch break and opportunities to view Loch Linnhe and Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in Britain, located near the town.
After stopping in Fort William, the tour travels east to Glenfinnan Viaduct, which has appeared in the Harry Potter films. During summer, visitors may see the Jacobite Steam Train (also known as the Hogwarts Express) crossing the viaduct*. Glenfinnan Monument, located by Loch Shiel, marks the 1745 Jacobite Uprising. The tour allows plenty time at the monument, providing time to learn about Jacobite history and photograph the bridge and nearby scenery.
The area is also notable for its connection to Loch Shiel, used as the 'Black Lake' in the Harry Potter films. Scenes such as Buckbeak's flight, the Triwizard Tournament, and views of the lake representing the setting of Hogwarts were filmed here. From Glenfinnan, the return journey to Glasgow includes passing Neptune’s Staircase, a series of locks on the Caledonian Canal that enables boats to travel between the west and east sides of Scotland. The tour continues south past Loch Lomond, stopping on route for a comfort break before returning to Glasgow.
