Description
Trek through Glencoe’s dramatic landscapes on a guided hike to the Lost Valley. Experience forest trails, river crossings, and breathtaking mountain views.
Experience the wild beauty of Glencoe on a guided hike to the Hidden Valley, also known as the Lost Valley. This 3-hour adventure is ideal for most ability levels and offers a chance to explore the forests, rivers, and rugged landscapes of Glen Coe without needing a full day. Your local guide, Trev, handles navigation, safety, and logistics, so you can focus on the journey and the scenery.
Meet your group at the Hidden Valley Car Park, where you’ll get a safety briefing and tips on the route. The hike begins with a descent down a metal staircase, a bridge crossing over the River Coe, and a steep rocky climb with a rope handrail for support. The trail then winds through a forested valley alongside the Allt Coire Gabhail stream. Expect a mix of well-trodden paths, rocky and muddy sections, a large rock slab to cross, and a river crossing via stepping stones.
The final approach to the Lost Valley is narrow and scattered with boulders, leading to a hidden plateau surrounded by towering peaks. Along the way, your guide shares stories about Glencoe’s history, geology, and local legends.
The hike ends back at the car park, leaving you ready to explore more of the Highlands or relax after your adventure.
