This tour promises to show you many of the sights visited by Inspectors Morse, Lewis, and Endeavour on the hit TV show, which has been filmed in approximately 100 locations in Oxford. If you book a private group tour only, £3 per person entry inside the Divinity School at the Bodleian Library is included.

This tour is aimed at fans of Inspector Morse, Lewis, Endeavour but if your 'better half' is not a big fan, don't worry as you will be introduced to some general insights about the University of Oxford and the history and traditions of each college you visit.

You will thus gain an insight into Oxford city and university heritage too. You will look in-depth at John Dexter's characters and in particular reveal insights into his vision for his characters.
The Inspector Morse Lewis Oxford Tour departs daily at 2:30 PM for individual tickets. Private group tours can be booked at other times, too.
Tour includes a maximum of £3 entry per person inside either a college or the Divinity School at the Bodleian Library. The tour lasts about 2 hours. During winter 2022, a minimum of 2 adults is required to book tours on Saturdays, and a minimum of 4 adults to book on every other day of the week.

Entry to Colleges and Divinity School is limited during graduation days, university open days, and the Christmas holidays.

• As part of ongoing COVID-19 virus preventative measures, the activity will now be a small-group experience
• Please note that Oxford university colleges are private institutions, so access cannot be guaranteed. Please take note of the university graduation dates in the full description, as those dates can have fewer options of colleges to visit
• Many colleges are closed over the Christmas period (from approximately December 22-January 2) or on graduation dates. The local partner will check ahead which venues are open on such dates, as many venues close. When possible you will still get inside at least one or more colleges but entry into colleges is not guaranteed
• Divinity school is closed December 24-28, 31 and January 1
The number of visitors is limited to reduce crowds
• Meet your guide wearing red lanyard outside of the empty shop at 15 Broad Street • This is a currently empty shop located next to the Oxfam shop at 17 Broad Street

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 48 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
