Bring your school group to explore Medieval York for a fun and fact-filled walking tour aimed specifically at your school group.
Medieval tour: Step back in time to medieval York, as we explore the amazing buildings that are still here, and find out about the monks, kings, soldiers and people who used them. Visit the ruins of the North’s biggest Benedictine abbey, hear stories of York’s castle and the battles fought nearby, see the magnificent Minster and the medieval streets. Includes: York Minster; Clifford’s Tower; St Mary’s Abbey ruins; The Shambles.
Distance 2.5km (approx. 1.5 miles).
Begins at Exhibition Square and finishes outside Clifford's Tower.
Led by Chris Geeson – tour guide, museums’ learning facilitator, and workshop leader. All tours are aimed at KS2 or KS3 but can be adapted. Group sizes should be up to around 30 pupils. Youth groups and home school groups also welcome. Standard tour length: 1 hour 30 mins - 1 hour 45 mins. Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
