Description

Enjoy the longest stretch of Route 66, the most famous highway in the world! This is a day trip to Arizona with plenty of photo opportunities and roadside attractions.
The morning begins with a visit to the Powerhouse Visitor Center and a walk through the Route 66 Museum upstairs in Kingman. We then head up into the Black Mountains on the steep, winding road through Sitgreaves Pass to Oatman, where donkeys standing in the middle of the road have priority. We explore this former mining town that has been transformed into a tourist mecca of the Old West, watch a gunfight like in the old western movies and have lunch at the Oatman Hotel and Cafe, a building from around 1902 that is reputed to have been the place where Hollywood stars Carole Lombard and Clark Gable spent their wedding night in 1939. Then it's back to Las Vegas.
