Description

Explore these Southeast Louisiana Bayous with a lifetime local. Get insight from storytelling that keeps adults and children interested throughout this experience. Make it a party, or a relaxing day.
One of the smallest boat tours in the area (a small business owned and operated by lifetime locals), guests feel personally engaged even on a full boat. This is more than a fun tour for all ages, it is a one-of-a-kind experience. Guests get a once in a lifetime glimpse of life on these bayous that only the locals know. Unscripted and authentic, repeat guests learn new things each time they come back.

Taken through several waterways, guests learn about everything they see, the ecosystem, local culture, local wildlife (especially alligators), and could encounter recreational or commercial fishermen in action. Captain George is also a commercial blue crab fisherman and describes the crab fishing process with one of his traps from the bayou. The only Parish 100% affected by Hurricane Katrina, guests will see and learn details of the flood, and the wall built after Hurricane Katrina to separate and protect our community from the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, the cause of the flooding in our area. A stop at our camp on the bayou (which can only be accessed by water) serves as a restroom stop.

Only 12 miles from New Orleans, our guests who do not have their own transportation easily arrive and depart our location via hired transportation. Expect this experience and the transportation there and back to take at least three hours, or more.

Prior to or after the tour, adult guests have the option to go inside our bar on site to purchase home cooked, local food and/or drinks, and have the option to purchase beverages to take on the tour. Larger groups have the option to purchase house drinks by the gallon (about 16 drinks per gallon) or half gallon. This is a great option for bachelor and bachelorette parties.
