Paddle the crystal-clear Emerald Cut of Rock Springs Run on a guided kayak adventure. Explore lush jungle scenery, spot wildlife, and enjoy swim stops—ideal for all skill levels and families.
Experience the natural beauty of Florida’s Emerald Cut Kayak Adventure, named for the stunningly clear waters winding through lush, jungle-like landscapes in Central Florida. This section of Rock Springs Run is part of the Wekiva River Basin and is one of only two designated Wild and Scenic Rivers in the state.
Begin with an upstream paddle, navigating gentle currents, twists, and turns beneath a canopy of trees until reaching the bridge at Kelly Park. Along the way, the guide will point out favorite swim spots for a refreshing break in the emerald waters. The return is a relaxing float downstream, letting the current carry you back to the starting point.
Wildlife sightings are common and may include alligators, turtles, river otters, white-tailed deer, black bears, and a variety of birds such as egrets, herons, and bald eagles. Please note: During the rainy season (August and September), the water may shift from clear blue to a tea-colored red due to natural tannins.
This adventure is suitable for all paddling levels, from beginners to experts, and is perfect for families. Participants must be confident swimmers, comfortable in the water, fully mobile, and in good physical condition to join. Enjoy an unforgettable exploration of one of Florida’s most scenic natural treasures.
