Description
Explore the wild north of Albania on a 2-day tour from Tirana. Hike to the Blue Eye, visit Theth’s Church,
and admire the Grunas Waterfall. Enjoy meals and stay in a traditional guesthouse.
Begin your journey early from Tirana, heading towards the wild north of Albania. After a short coffee break, climb to Qafa e Thores (1630 m) for a stunning panorama of the Albanian Alps. Descend to Theth and settle into a traditional guesthouse.
After lunch, head to Nderlysaj, where a 40-minute hike takes you to the Blue Eye, a crystal-clear spring hidden among the rocks. On the way back, enjoy the natural rock pools. In the evening, savor a warm dinner at your guesthouse or another local inn. Continue the night by the crackling fire, with a glass of wine and pleasant conversations with new friends.
The next morning, after breakfast with local organic products, walk down to the village center to see Theth’s Church and the Lock-in Tower, a unique monument of Albanian tradition. Continue to Grunas Waterfall, over 30 meters high, one of the most beautiful sights of the Alps. Nearby stands the old water mill, another testimony of the traditional life of the highlanders.
After a break to enjoy the view and take photos, return to the guesthouse. Around 1:00 PM, begin the journey back with a stop in Shkodra for lunch, before arriving in Tirana in the evening with unforgettable memories.
