Discover the ancient sites of Garni and Geghard on a private tour from Yerevan. Visit the Arch of Charents, see the Symphony of Stones, and take part in a lavash baking masterclass.
Begin your tour with a visit to the Arch of Charents, a structure designed by architect Rafael Israelyan in 1957. From here, enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Ararat, the symbol of Armenia.
Next, head to the Pagan Temple of Garni, the only preserved pagan temple in Armenia and the former USSR. Learn about pre-Christian Armenia and the Armenian people as you explore this temple dedicated to Mithra, the God of the Sun.
Continue to the Symphony of Stones, a natural basalt organ and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the hexagonal stones, stretched one after the other across the canyon, that look like an organ, hence the name.
Then, visit the Geghard Monastery, a rock-hewn monastery with 140 caves in the surrounding mountains, which were once inhabited by monks. Learn about the holy relic Geghard, the weapon of the Roman centurion Longianos, with which Christ was wounded, now kept in the Holy Mother See of Etchmiatsin.
End your tour with a lavash master class, where you will see how the famous Armenian bread, lavash, is baked.
