Continue south toward the Rhodope Mountains and visit Asen’s Fortress, dramatically located above the Asenitsa River valley. Discover the history of this medieval stronghold and enjoy impressive panoramic views over the surrounding mountains.

Wear comfortable walking shoes. Asen’s Fortress includes uphill walking, steps, and uneven surfaces.
Please dress respectfully when visiting Bachkovo Monastery. Clothing covering the shoulders and knees is recommended.
Wine tasting is available only to guests aged 18 and over. Guests under 18 can participate in the excursion without consuming alcohol.
The itinerary and timing may be adjusted because of traffic, weather conditions, opening hours, or operational requirements.
Entry to the main courtyard and principal church of Bachkovo Monastery is generally free. Some additional areas, such as the museum and Old Refectory, may require a separate ticket.
