The “Zhuangyuan Fang” (Scholar’s Pavilion) is not just another sightseeing boat on the Pearl River — it is the river’s first vessel designed around the theme of China’s imperial examination culture, transforming a 60–70 minute night cruise into a story of scholarship, ambition, and Lingnan heritage .

The boat’s three decks are arranged along the lines of a traditional academy’s courtyard, each level offering its own character and perspective. On the first deck, the “Wenqu Pavilion” (文曲阁) features calligraphy across the ceiling and LED screens listing Guangdong’s historical civil and military top scholars.
