Experience Zhangjiajie's dual charms: the beauty along Golden Whip Stream below, and panoramic mountain views from the heights. A journey that has it all!
Depart from the Wulingyuan East Gate and first visit Shili Gallery, a 5-kilometer valley often described as a natural landscape painting. Take a scenic train through the winding canyon to see the “Old Herbalist” rock formation and continue to the iconic “Three Sisters Peaks” at the far end of the valley.
Next, walk along Golden Whip Stream for approximately 30 minutes, where towering stone peaks and clear waters create a serene valley atmosphere.
Then take the Bailong Elevator, the world’s tallest outdoor elevator, ascending to Yuanjiajie in about one minute. Key sights include Hallelujah Mountain, the inspiration for Avatar, and the natural sandstone arch called First Bridge Under Heaven.
Continue to Tianzi Mountain to explore well-known viewpoints such as Imperial Brush Peak, Fairy Scattering Flowers Peak, and the West Sea Stone Forest, offering panoramic mountain views.
Finally, descend via the Tianzi Mountain Cableway, with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks along the way, and return to the Wulingyuan East Gate.
