Description
Step into the stunning Longji Rice Terraces, chase a fiery sunset from Mt. Yao, with Guilin hotel pickup & drop-off. Want a local touch? Add a rice noodle dinner to make your Guilin day Chinamaxxing!
Most Guilin tours tick boxes. This one breaks the mold.
Start at Longji Rice Terraces—650 years of hillside farming by Zhuang and Yao villagers, with layered green or golden ridges like a living painting. Then, while other tours head back, you go up Yao Mountain, Guilin’s highest peak. Time it for sunset—karst peaks fading into mist, the Li River curling below. Finish with a real Guilin rice noodle bowl at a local joint. Pickup, drop-off, and a driver-guide who knows back roads—all included. No jade shops, no rushed stops. Just one good day.
One day, four moves, zero fluff.
Step one: the 650-year view. Longji Rice Terraces (“Dragon’s Backbone”), a UNESCO-recognized living landscape. In spring/summer, flooded terraces mirror the sky; in autumn, hillsides burn golden. No crowded tour bus stops—you get sweeping panoramas and quiet corners. Walk through Zhuang and Yao villages with wooden houses and handwoven textiles.
Step two: Yao Mountain at golden hour. Guilin’s highest peak (909m). From the summit, karst peaks layer into mist, the Li River coils like silk. We climb 4–5 PM for soft, warm light—a live ink painting.
Step three: the local bowl. A proper Guilin rice noodle joint where locals queue before noon. Silky noodles, braised sauce, crispy pork, pickled beans, chilies. Mix yourself. Meal cost paid on site (≈CNY20-50/USD3-8). Flexible—skip and go back to hotel if tired.
Step four: home. Drop-off at your hotel. Sunset viewing weather-dependent; if cloudy/rainy, we will skip it and refund the Yaoshan entry fee (CNY55/per person) and visit Elephant Trunk Hill in downtown instead.
Faits saillants
- Not a parade. We don‘t rush you through six “must-sees” just to tick boxes.
- Real timing. Daylight at Longji, sunset at Yao—two lights on Guilin.
