Due to its short duration and incredible scenery, the Llao-Llao hill is usually one of the best half-day trekking options in the Bariloche area.
Nestled in Circuito Chico, the greenest heart of the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, the Llao Llao hill is famous among visitors and locals for its majestic view of Lake Nahuel Huapi and the surrounding mountains. The trek is 3 km long (one way) with a 200 m elevation gain. It starts in the heart of Circuito Chico and slowly ascends through a forest of native coihues and cypresses. During the hike, you'll be able to see specimens of the different species of native plants that make up the Patagonian Andean forest, and who knows, if we're lucky, a little animal might appear. The summit of the hill offers panoramic views and is a comfortable place to take a break and snap some beautiful photos. The descent is along the same path until you reach the parking lot again. The entire route is usually completed in 3 hours, but it may take a little longer or a little less depending on the pace of the hikers.
