Begin your journey by exploring the historic heart of the capital. Visit the fascinating Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa, where thousands of traders sell spices, coffee, textiles, and traditional goods. Walk through the lively alleys while learning about Ethiopia’s famous coffee culture and local trading traditions.

Continue to Adwa 00KM Museum, a newly opened museum honoring Ethiopia’s victory in the Battle of Adwa against colonial forces in 1896. The museum features modern architecture and exhibitions about Ethiopian resistance and national pride.

Then pass through the Monument to the Lion of Judah, an iconic symbol of Ethiopian monarchy and national identity located near the historic railway station. Drive through Meskel Square, one of the city’s main public gathering places and the center of major festivals and celebrations.

Next, explore the modern side of the Ethiopian capital. Visit Sheger Park, one of the city’s newest urban parks featuring landscaped gardens, lakes, and beautiful walking paths in the heart of the capital.
