Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Gondar or Gondar Airport. After a two-hour drive to Debark, the headquarters of Simien Mountains National Park, stop to register, obtain park permits, and meet your ranger and guide. Then, drive another 40 minutes to the national park.
The first part of the walk begins at Simien Lodge, where you’ll walk along the ridges and escarpment for 1.5 hours. Along the way, see endemic Gelada baboons, bushbucks, klipspringers, and possibly leopards.
Afterward, drive 30 minutes to Sankaber Camp, where you’ll trek to Jinba Waterfalls, passing viewpoints and endless escarpments. Enjoy the falls before driving back to Gondar for the night.
