Join a group tour with a local, English-speaking, DOT-licensed Ayutthaya guide. Choose your time slot and visit 3 historic temples while discovering Ayutthaya’s history and local stories.
Meeting & Starting Time
Morning: Meet at 9:45 a.m. at Wat Mahathat, in the seating area beside the ticket counter, for registration and a short introduction. The tour starts at 10:00 a.m.
Afternoon: Meet at 2:30 p.m. at the same location. The tour starts at 2:45 p.m.
The Tour
We begin by exploring Wat Mahathat together. Your local, English-speaking, DOT-licensed guide will walk around the temple with you, introducing its different sections and buildings and sharing its history, architecture, religious significance, and fascinating stories.
During the temple visit, you are welcome to stay with the guide and group, or explore some areas independently at your own pace. If you choose to explore on your own, please return to the agreed meeting location at the time advised by your guide so the group can continue together.
From Wat Mahathat, we continue on foot along a quiet, tree-lined back road away from the main tourist route. This peaceful walking trail leads us to the historic Ayutthaya Royal Palace, the former royal palace complex of the ancient capital. We will explore the palace area and learn about its important role in Ayutthaya’s history before continuing toward the temple zone.
Along the way, you will have the opportunity to taste famous local snacks from Ayutthaya, included in the tour price, and experience a small part of the city’s local food culture.
We then take a local tuk-tuk transfer to Wat Ratchaburana. Your guide will introduce the history and important features of the site before the tour ends here.
The morning tour finishes around 1:00 p.m., while the afternoon tour finishes around 5:45 p.m. The afternoon tour follows the same itinerary and includes the same experiences as the morning tour.
After the tour, Wat Ratchaburana is a convenient location to find lunch or dinner or continue exploring Ayutthaya. Your guide will also be happy to recommend nearby boat trips, bicycle tours, food tours, tattoo tours, and other local experiences according to your interests.

Bring drinking water: Ayutthaya can be very hot, especially during the daytime. Please bring enough water to stay hydrated.
Dress comfortably: We recommend lightweight, breathable clothing suitable for walking in hot weather.
Wear comfortable walking shoes: The tour includes walking on temple grounds, historic paths, and uneven surfaces.
Bring sunglasses and sun protection: Sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen are recommended.
Have a proper meal beforehand: As the tour involves walking in the heat, we recommend having a good meal before joining the tour.
Temple dress code: Please wear clothing that covers the shoulders and knees when visiting the temples. Shorts or skirts should be at least knee-length, and tops should cover the shoulders. This helps ensure respectful access to the historical and religious sites.

- Temple entrance fees: 80 THB per person, per temple. The tour visits 3 temples, so the total entrance fees are 240 THB per person.
- Transportation to and from the meeting point: Transportation from your accommodation, train station, or bus terminal to the meeting point, and transportation after the tour, is not included. We are happy to help arrange transportation for you—please feel free to message us.
- Drinking water: Please bring your own drinking water.
- Clothing rental: Temple-appropriate clothing or clothing rental is not included. Please prepare suitable clothing that covers the shoulders and knees.
