From the medieval Bosnian Kingdom and the Ottoman Empire to Austro-Hungarian rule, the World Wars, Yugoslavia, the Siege of Sarajevo, the Srebrenica Genocide and modern-day Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Walk through Sarajevo’s historic streets where East meets West, explore landmarks that witnessed the rise and fall of empires, stand at the site where World War I began, and learn how Sarajevo endured the longest siege of a capital city in modern warfare.
