Description

History, intriguing facts, and the main attractions of São Paulo's most iconic avenue. From the native forest to modern cultural centers – and century-old mansions. Walking tour, private groups only!
Welcome to Paulista Avenue! This is one of the most important thoroughfares in Brazil and – why not? – in Latin America. It is an essential axis for the economy, politics, culture, tourism, and, of course, transportation. As such, it represents a true synthesis of the metropolis. We will walk its entire length, visiting these amazing attractions:

1. MASP: at the top of the mountain
The most famous museum in São Paulo is the perfect starting point to understand the history of Paulista Avenue

2. Trianon Park: native forest
Get to know one of the city's oldest trees! Also behold beautiful sculptures and the historic Brazilwood tree

3. The last survivor
I will show you the only mansion from the avenue's early years that is still standing

4. The beginning of modernity
The first shopping center in Latin America, a designated historical landmark full of charm

5. A new viewpoint on the past
Besides beautiful exhibitions, the modern IMS building allows us to see how Paulista Avenue could have been

6. Roses and tractors
At "Casa das Rosas", I'll tell you about the night when mansions like this were torn down by their very owners

7. View from above
If we are lucky, we will visit the highly sought-after Sesc viewpoint – which requires advance reservation

8. Must-see cultural centers
Japan House, Itaú Cultural, Sesc, Masp, Korean Center, Fiesp, IMS... Wonderful exhibitions!

9. How about a "bauru"?
Try the nearly hundred-year-old sandwich created in SP – or other delicacies in a traditional "padoca" (local bakery)

10. Pictures to remember
I love taking photos, so it will be a pleasure for me helping you capture the best moments of our tour!
