Explore the best of the temples of Angkor Wat, see a floating village and discover Phnom Kulen National Park. Enjoy a flexible tour with a basic itinerary that allows you to set your own pace and personalize the experience.
Day One
Suggested pickup time for this day is 7:30 AM. Your driver and tour guide will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to purchase your 3-day temple pass before heading to Banteay Srey early enough to beat the crowds. Banteay Srey is the most intricately carved temple in all of Angkor Wat. On the way there, enjoy views of traditional Khmer villages and palm sugar plantations. Later, you'll have the option to visit the Landmine Museum, or continue on to Phnom Kulen National Park. This National Park is where the 500-year long age of Angkor began. Phnom Kulen is the mountain on which King Jayavarman II initiated the royal “God of the King” Linga cult in 802 AD. Finish the day with a visit to Kampong Phluk, a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake.
Day Two
Suggested pickup time for this day is 8:00 AM. After pickup from your hotel, head to the ancient city of Angkor Thom which includes the South Gate of Angkor Tom, Bayon, Baphuon, Phimeanakas, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King, North Khleang and South Khleang. Then visit some smaller temples in the small circuit like Chau Say Tevoda, Thommanonf and Ta Keo. Next, visit the jungle temple Ta Prohm where scenes from the movie Tomb Raider were filmed. After a lunch break, visit the Buddhist temple of Banteay Kdei. Explore this incredible monument at your own leisure and then head to Phnom Bakheng in time to catch the beautiful sunset.
Day Three
Suggested pickup time for this day is 5:00 AM in order to catch sunrise at Angkor Wat. After the Chinese crowd leaves, you'll have some time to explore this incredible monument at your own leisure. Your experienced guide is committed to ensuring you get the very best out of your Angkor Wat experience and will share lots of interesting details with you. Then you can visit some of the other temples like Pre Rup and Banteay Samre. After lunch, there are few more temples to visit including East Mebon, Ta Som, Neak Pean and Preah Khan. On the trip back to your hotel, you'll pass through some picturesque local villages and you may want to stop to take some photos.
