Cape Verde is one of the most important nesting sites in the world for the loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta Caretta), and this trip offers you the unique opportunity to see these majestic animals up close.
Your adventure begins with a pick-up service directly from your accommodation. In a comfortable van, you will travel to a secluded and preserved beach, carefully selected by our teams. During the ride, your registered guide will share fascinating facts about the evolution, biology, and conservation challenges facing these creatures.
When you arrive at the beach, you will participate in a brief information session on the essential rules of conduct to protect the welfare of the animals. Then, under a densely starry African sky, you will walk on the sand in small groups, patiently waiting for the moment when the turtles emerge from the ocean.
When a turtle is spotted, you will approach in absolute silence. With the help of specialized red light gear that neither disturbs nor disorients the animal, you will be able to closely observe the impressive nesting process. It is an exhilarating experience that combines the grandeur of wildlife with strict respect for the environment. After the ritual, you will see the turtle camouflage the nest and calmly return to the sea.
