This private eco-hiking day is built around two places most Jeju visitors never reach: the world's largest single-species nutmeg forest at Bijarim, and the 1,100-meter volcanic highland wetlands of the 1100 Road. Your driver-guide leads the walking commentary on volcanic landforms and forest ecology, so the day is a guided nature walk rather than a simple transfer between photo stops.
Your driver-guide collects you from your Jeju City hotel, the airport, or the cruise port, and the day unfolds at an easy pace. Walk the shaded, level trails of Bijarim, a Natural Monument sheltering a 450,000-square-meter grove of thousand-year-old nutmeg trees, with plenty of chances to rest or turn back. After a local lunch stop recommended by your guide, climb to the 1100 Road Observatory for ridge and southwest coast panoramas, then continue to Sangumburi, Korea's only low-profile volcanic crater, where silver grass covers the slopes in autumn. Close the loop on the boardwalk circling the 1100 Highland wetland, passing ponds and reeds at altitude. The full walking route is about 3.5 km with no steep climbs, suited to ages 6 to 70.
The day ends with drop-off at your Jeju City hotel or a restaurant of your choice. Attraction tickets are not included and are paid at each site: Bijarim is about KRW 3,000 and Sangumburi about KRW 6,000 per person. Lunch is at your own expense. Gratuities for your driver-guide are optional. If you wish to add Eco Land or another stop, agree the timing with your driver-guide in advance.
