Set off in a small group from Zagreb and enjoy a scenic drive through the Croatian countryside. Your licensed driver will familiarize you with the itinerary for the day, as well as information about the sites you are visiting and the general history of Croatia.
Approximately one hour into the drive, reach your first destination, the village of Rastoke. This fairy-tale watermill village will give you the first insight into historic Croatia, as well as a sneak peek of what’s to come in Plitvice. Spend enough time here to look around the village and take some photos before heading back to the van towards the national park.
After 30 minutes of driving, arrive at the spectacular Plitvice Lakes. After collecting your tickets, go straight into the park where you will be mesmerized by its beauty. The park is a fairly big place, but your skillful guide knows how to get around and maximize your experience.
The tour through the park is 8.5 km (5.3 mi) of walking, a 20-minute boat ride, and a ride on the tourist train back to the parking lot. After finishing the sightseeing of the park, head back to Zagreb. Kick back, relax, and enjoy the 90-minute ride back through the landscapes of Croatia’s mountainous countryside.
