Description
Discover the must-see sights of Copenhagen on a 4-hour tour of its historic center. We will stroll through medieval squares, charming streets, and iconic landmarks.
Discover Copenhagen on a 4-hour tour that combines history, architecture, and urban culture. This tour will allow you to explore the city's major icons, as well as hidden gems and secret corners often missed by visitors.
The experience begins at Copenhagen Central Station, one of the city's main entry points, opposite the exit leading to the historic Tivoli Gardens, one of the world's oldest amusement parks. From here, we will head to Town Hall Square, where we will admire the imposing Town Hall building and learn how this area became the heart of modern life in Copenhagen.
Along the way, we will explore the Old Town, passing through the historic squares of Gammeltorv and Nytorv, which were the center of the market and of justice in medieval times. We will stroll along Strøget, one of the longest pedestrian streets in Europe, while learning about the city's transformation from a small trading port to a modern Scandinavian capital.
During the walk, we will see some of the most emblematic buildings (from the outside) in the historic center:
Copenhagen Cathedral
Trinitatis Church and its Round Tower (Rundetårn)
The elegant Højbro Plads and the majestic Christiansborg Palace, seat of the Danish Parliament (only certain areas can be entered; others are restricted).
We will continue to Rosenborg Castle, a former royal residence surrounded by beautiful gardens (admission to the castle is subject to a fee), before heading to the sophisticated Kongens Nytorv, next to the historic Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. In this area, we will discover the famous colorful houses of Nyhavn, one of the most photographed spots in Copenhagen and a former port for merchants and sailors.
The tour culminates at the official residence of the Danish Royal Family, Amalienborg Palace. If the group's pace allows, we may also visit the Little Mermaid, one of the city's most iconic symbols (it can only be viewed from the outside).
Over the course of these four hours, you will not only discover Copenhagen's must-see sights, but also hear amazing stories about kings, fires, urban transformations, and secrets that reveal the true character of the city.
This comprehensive, dynamic, and in-depth tour will help you understand why Copenhagen is one of the most captivating capitals in Northern Europe.
These are some of the main stops on the tour. There are many more shorter stops.
We can also adapt the tour itinerary to the preferences of the group participating in the tour and visit other places, as long as it is within the tour's capabilities.
