Arrive in Laxey and take a short walk to the Laxey Wheel, the world’s largest waterwheel. Along the way, see what remains of the washing floors, a place where tales abound of the ordinary person just trying to make a living in the most testing of conditions.
Next, go for a walk to the beach, passing traditional Manx stone cottages and a woolen mill with a story of its own. Enjoy lunch (Not Provided) on the shorefront before heading to the summit of Snaefell.
Travel up Snaefell on the Snaefell Mountain Railway, a unique transport system that has been in operation since 1895. As you climb to the top, hear about the tragic Snaefell Mining Disaster, a story that deserves to be a film someday.
At the summit, see the Seven Kingdoms: The Isle of Man, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, the Kingdom of the Sea, and the Kingdom of Heaven. After your descent, return to your hotel or place of residence.
