Day 1: Gondar to Sankabar Camp
Start your adventure in Gondar, famed for its historical castles. Transfer to Sankabar Camp, getting dropped off two hours before the campsite to enjoy stunning views over the Simien Mountains' escarpment. This trek is perfect for spotting large groups of Gelada monkeys. Arriving at Sankabar, perched at 3,250 meters, you’ll set up camp and bask in the tranquility of the surroundings under a starry sky, excited for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Sankabar Camp to Gich Camp
Today’s trek takes you from Sankabar to Gich Camp, navigating through lush landscapes and the captivating Jinibar Falls. Expect about six hours of hiking, with the trail offering glimpses of vibrant flora and perhaps some local wildlife. Reaching Gich Camp at 3,600 meters brings a sense of achievement. Settle in and enjoy the serene atmosphere, perfect for reflecting on the journey so far.
Day 3: Gich to Chennek via Imet Gogo

Day 4: Ras Bwahit to Sona Camp
This day is dedicated to conquering Ras Bwahit, the second highest peak in the Simien Mountains at 4,430 meters. Day 6: Mekarbiya to Mulit Camp
Today’s trek from Mekarbiya to Mulit Camp, at an elevation of 2,100 meters, takes about five hours. The path continues to meander through beautiful landscapes rich in biodiversity. Revel in the peaceful surroundings and the camaraderie with your trekking group, reflecting on the journey’s highlights.
Day 7: Mulit to Gondar
