An engaging exhibition on forestry and fisheries, on the shoemaking trade, and a photo exhibition featuring scenes from the Mecklenburg Lake District. There are also views of the city from the tower.
Wesenberg Castle houses interesting exhibitions featuring displays on forestry and fisheries in the Mecklenburg Lake District. A seed kiln installed in the building provides insights into the harvesting of seeds for reforestation, as was done, for example, for the Mecklenburg pine. A shoemaker's workshop showcases a workstation, materials and tools used in this fascinating craft, which was once widespread in Wesenberg. In addition, visitors can admire a photo exhibition featuring more than 20 nature and landscape photographs. Particularly appealing to children, the exhibits also include mounted specimens of local animals and fish, and, of course, a suit of knightly armor. And if you climb up the former lookout tower, which now serves as an observation deck, you can enjoy views over the town and Lake Woblitz. In addition to souvenirs made of amber and ceramics, the Wesenberg Castle Shop also offers many regional products, such as honey, meat and sausage products, and spirits.
