Begin your experience at Matenadaran, where your guide introduces a carefully chosen selection of manuscripts and illuminations. Rather than moving through the museum as a catalogue of objects, follow the people behind the pages: scribes, artists, scholars, and communities who kept knowledge alive through periods of change.
Notice the visual language of the manuscripts, the materials used to create them, and the stories held in their margins and images. If you choose the optional workshop in advance, continue the experience by creating a personal herbal blend inspired by Armenian historical recipes and plant knowledge, or by exploring manuscript illumination through your own small artwork.
Finish at the Matenadaran Café, with time to reflect on what you have seen. You can also browse the souvenir shop for books and Armenian-inspired keepsakes.
