Experience the Palatinate at its most beautiful and enjoyable on an exclusive excursion to the traditional spa town of Bad Dürkheim. Your journey in a comfortable, air-conditioned van takes you straight to the heart of the German Wine Route, where gentle vine-covered hills and Palatinate warmth await you. In a relaxed small group of no more than 6 people, you will delve deeply into the culture of enjoyment and the fascinating history of this region steeped in history.
Our stay in Bad Dürkheim combines fascinating knowledge with a real wine vibe. We will walk together to the impressive saline – the historic graduation house – where you will feel the soothing, salty breeze and learn exciting details about salt extraction in the past. An absolute visual highlight is the famous Dürkheim giant barrel, the largest barrel in the world. Here you will hear the curious stories of its creation and learn why, although it was never filled with wine, it is an absolute monument to Palatinate wine culture. Right next door is the legendary Brühlwiesen-Platz, home of the Dürkheim Sausage Market. You will learn firsthand how the world's largest wine festival has evolved from a medieval market to today's cult event.
After these fantastic impressions, you can enjoy the cuisine of the region and very special, typical regional dishes during your lunch break. Be sure to try the Palatinate Saumagen!
The grand finale of this tour is a wine tasting – first in a historic setting with the flair of the Roman era and then at a selected top winemaker in the region. You will taste the fine wines of the Palatinate – above all, of course, the sparkling Riesling, for which the region is world-famous. A day full of enjoyment, culture, and unforgettable impressions in the sun-drenched paradise of the Palatinate.
