Description
Discover the UNESCO-listed Meteora on a small-group day trip from Thessaloniki. Visit 2 monasteries, enjoy panoramic stops, and have free time in Kastraki or Trikala for a traditional Greek lunch.
Discover one of Greece’s most extraordinary destinations on a full-day small-group trip from Thessaloniki to Meteora, with a maximum of just 8 guests.
Travel comfortably through the beautiful landscapes of Northern and Central Greece and enjoy a more relaxed and personal experience than a typical large-group bus tour.
One of the special features of this experience is its circular route, allowing you to discover different landscapes throughout the day instead of traveling back along the same road. On the way to Meteora, travel through Western Macedonia and continue south via the new E65 motorway, enjoying a scenic journey through the Greek mainland. After your visit to Meteora, the return journey follows a different route, passing through Larissa before heading back to Thessaloniki.
As you approach Meteora, the spectacular rock formations rising dramatically above the Thessalian plain create an unforgettable first impression.
Explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and discover the centuries-old monasteries built on top of the towering sandstone pillars. During the day, visit two of Meteora’s active monasteries, experiencing the unique atmosphere of this remarkable spiritual and historical destination while admiring its religious art, architecture, and breathtaking views.
The itinerary also includes carefully selected panoramic stops, giving you plenty of opportunities to take memorable photographs of the monasteries, cliffs, and valley below.
After exploring Meteora, enjoy free time in the picturesque village of Kastraki, located beneath the impressive rock formations, where you can relax and enjoy a traditional Greek lunch at a local taverna.
Upon prior arrangement, there is also the option to enjoy the lunch break in Trikala instead. This gives the group the opportunity to combine the Meteora experience with a visit to one of Thessaly’s most charming cities and enjoy lunch in its lively city center.
With a maximum of only 8 participants, the experience offers greater comfort, flexibility, and a friendly, personal atmosphere throughout the day. The small-group format also allows the itinerary to be more adaptable to the interests and pace of the group.
Experience Meteora beyond the typical coach tour: discover its monasteries and spectacular landscapes, travel through different regions of mainland Greece, and enjoy a scenic circular journey from Thessaloniki and back.
