Thassos: Jeep Safari to Kastro, Ipsarion, and Maries

Kastro is considered the oldest village on the island. The walls and roofs of the houses are built of stone. It was named after a castle built in 1403, and the ruins of the wall still make a huge impression. In the village, there is the church of St. Athanasius, which was built in 1804 in a record time of 40 days after obtaining the relevant permission of the Sultan. Last stop is at the waterfalls and the artificial lake in Maries. The Maries waterfalls, along with the surrounding plane trees, are popular among nature lovers. The crystal clear waters offer a breath-taking view and create an airy atmosphere that is out of this world. You will be able to taste traditional sweets and the famous Thassian pine honey.
