This full-day private tour combines the exploration of two main cities of Georgia; Mtskheta and Tbilisi. Experience the rich histories of both beautiful cities and delve into the Georgian past.
Begin your tour when you are picked up from your hotel in Tbilisi and drive to Mtskheta located 25 km away to the west. Mtskheta was the ancient capital of Georgia from 4th-century BCE to the 5th-century AD. This little town contains two of the UNESCO world heritage sites: The Holy Cross Monastery of Jvari and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Visit the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the 6th-century Jvari monastery which represents the culmination by a number of artistic and architectural aspirations in early Christian architecture.
After midday drive back to Tbilisi. Tbilisi holds more than 1500 years of history as the capital of Georgia. Because of its strategic and economic advantages, Tbilisi is home to a mix of multi-ethnic cosmopolitan traditions, which create the incomparable and unforgettable charm of the city. Explore the old and new districts of Tbilisi. Ride up to Narikhala Fortress by the aerial cable car and admire the views of the city from the top. In the evening return back to the hotel.
