Description

Explore Guatemala City on a guided tour. Visit the Central Market, see the first Catholic image in the city, and enjoy a panoramic view from the Berlin Plaza.
Begin your tour at Plaza Berlín, located in the south of the city. Enjoy a panoramic view of the Pacaya Volcano and the outskirts of Guatemala City. Take a scenic drive along Reforma Avenue and Las Américas Avenue, lined with trees and cycle paths.

Next, head to the north of the city and visit the Map of Relief. On the way, stop at one of the university campuses in 4° Norte, a hipster and bohemian area with many murals promoted by the local artist.

Continue to the Map of Relief, a large 3D map created in 1905 that provides a better understanding of the country. Afterward, return to downtown Guatemala City and visit iconic buildings, bars, and the Central Market.

Visit Central Park and the Cathedral, home to the first Catholic religious image, a gift from the kings of Spain to Guatemala and Central America. Explore the Central Market, filled with vegetables, scents, incense, textiles, and music.

Then, head to the Pasaje del Comercio, also known as the Portal del Comercio, to see classic jewelry stores and the Portalito, a bar with marimba music played by blind musicians. Try the national beer of Guatemala in this bar, which has a wall of fame featuring important Latin American figures.

Walk along Sixth Avenue, the first pedestrian street in Guatemala City, and see the dynamic activity of people from all over the country seeking new opportunities. Visit San Martín, a bakery on Sixth Avenue with the best croissants, located in a historic house from the late 1800s.

Finally, walk to the Postal Code of Guatemala, where you can see the city’s arch, similar to the one in Antigua Guatemala but much more modern. Visit the art school, where children under 18 learn to paint, sing, play instruments, and dance ballet.
