Explore Mystical Tour Of Sarnath : Journey Of Lord Buddha Birth To Death

History of Sarnath :
Around the 5th century B.C., a young prince named Siddhartha Gautama, hailing from Lumbini started a journey of self-discovery. His life had been one of privilege and seclusion, but a chance encounter with illness and death prompted him to seek liberation from human suffering. After years of seeking truth and enlightenment, he sat beneath the sacred Bodhi tree in Buddha Temple Bodhgaya, vowing not to rise until he found answers. It was beneath this tree that he achieved enlightenment, and the world would come to know him as the Buddha.
However, the Buddha's mission didn't begin in Bodhgaya. Before he started spreading his teachings, he sought out five individuals who had left him when he abandoned physical asceticism as the path to liberation. Learning of their residence in the deer park at Sarnath, he made his way there. Impressed by his newfound wisdom and his teachings on the Four Noble Truths, these five individuals became his first disciples, and the seeds of Buddhism were sown in Sarnath.

Chaukhandi Stupa :
The Chaukhandi Stupa is regarded as one of the most divine and important monuments of Buddhist culture. This stupa has been built on the exact spot where the great Lord Buddha first met five ascetics, to whom he later went on to preach his first teachings. The Chaukhandi Stupa is an evolution of burial mounds and serves as a shrine to the great Lord Buddha.

Dhamek Stupa :
Sarnath Dhamek Stupa represents the place where the Buddha preached his first discourse to his first five disciples. This park is said to be of great importance as Buddha gave his first sermon here after attaining enlightenment to his disciples, which revealed his "Eightfold Path.

The Dharmarajika Stupa was to discover the ruins of an archaeological wonder and the place where Lord Buddha's remains were enshrined. It still bears historical significance. Check out the stone pillars and walls surrounding the stupa. Watch as monks and pilgrims sit quietly on the surrounding lawns while meditating and gazing in awe at the ruins.
