Your first stop will be at Penelokan Village. The View point of the Amazing View of Lake Creater and Mt. Batur Volcano. It will take about 1 hours drive from Ubud and 1.5 hours from South of Bali. From Penelokan It will take about 30 Minutes to reach Main Village of Terunyan. Once we get into the village we'll be visiting the main temple of Terunyan( Once a year May be Closed Due Special Time of the Balinesse Calender) and meet the locals in this village live a very traditional life that is vastly different from the rest of Bali. The Trunyanese do not cremate their dead. After a cleansing ritual, the dead body is placed in a bamboo cage, locally known as ancak saji, which is placed under the Taru Menyan tree. Taru Menyan means nice smelling tree and it emanates a scent that neutralizes the smell of rotting bodies. It is from this tree that the name Trunyan is derived. It is only the bodies of married people that are placed in bamboo cages.

Terunyan is the oldest village in Bali. And also known as Bali Aga people. Unique and legendary cemetery where villagers have been placing to rest their family and loved ones for centuries.

This unique style of ceremonial burial, in open air, allowing the elements to reclaim the corpses in a natural process, is a rare and eye-opening experience that will stay with you forever. they have their own unique traditions.
