Description

• Goðafoss - beautiful waterfalls of the Gods • Mývatn area - unique volcanic landscape • Dimmuborgir - lava formations, • Hverir - geothermal, Mars-like terrain • Nature Baths - optional
This is not a standard Lake Mývatn tour.
Designed for small groups (max 8), this experience offers a more personal and flexible way to explore North Iceland. The day adapts to the weather, light conditions, and the needs of the group, allowing you to move at a natural pace and enjoy each place without rush.
Our first stop is Goðafoss, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland, known as the “Waterfall of the Gods.” This is a place strongly connected to Iceland’s history and the moment when the country adopted Christianity.
We then continue into the Lake Mývatn area, shaped by volcanic forces and geothermal activity. At Skútustaðagígar, you will see rare pseudocraters formed by volcanic activity, a unique phenomenon on a global scale.
Another stop is Dimmuborgir, a lava field filled with unusual rock formations and natural structures, often connected with Icelandic legends.
We also visit Grjótagjá, a small lava cave with vivid blue geothermal water hidden inside a crack in the earth.
At Hverir, you will experience raw geothermal terrain with steaming vents, bubbling mud, and intense colors, creating a landscape unlike anywhere else in Iceland.
If time and conditions allow, we make short photo stops at selected viewpoints around Lake Mývatn, giving you additional perspectives of the area beyond the main stops.
Throughout the day, I also help you capture the best moments, showing you simple ways to take natural and meaningful photos, whether you use a phone or a camera.
At the end of the tour, we visit the Mývatn Nature Baths (entry not included), where you can relax in warm geothermal water surrounded by volcanic landscapes.
This experience is designed for travelers who prefer a more personal, relaxed, and authentic way of exploring Iceland.
