Giardini Naxos: Half-Day Boat Trip to Taormina

Discover the Bay of Mazzarò, and the beautiful Isola Bella on this half-day boat trip from Giardini Naxos to Taormina, learning the basics of sailing.
Navigation will take place under sail or engine depending on the weather and sea conditions. During the cruise, our skipper will introduce you to the basics of sailing and share interesting insights about the area.
We will then reach the stunning Bay of Isola Bella, the most iconic spot of the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”, Taormina. Covered in lush Mediterranean vegetation, this small island was declared a nature reserve in 1990.
Here we will stop for the first swim of the day, giving you time to snorkel and explore the crystal-clear waters independently.
During the tour you will also admire the enchanting Grotta Azzurra, famous for its mesmerizing light reflections created by the sun filtering through the water.
Back on board, we will continue sailing towards the beautiful Bay of Mazzarò. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline framed by rocky promontories and experience the charming atmosphere of the Italian Dolce Vita, with a cinematic panorama of Taormina overlooking the sea.
A delicious aperitif will be served on board featuring local specialties such as vegetables preserved in oil, fresh bread, cold cuts, cheeses, and seasonal fruit, accompanied by excellent local white wine. Possibility of having a full light lunch, rather than the aperitif, during the 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM time slot.
With Capo Taormina behind us, we will stop in the Bay of Villagonia, where you can enjoy a spectacular panorama featuring Mount Etna, Taormina and Castelmola.
On the way back to Giardini Naxos, you will also admire the beautiful Taormina-Giardini railway station. Built in Art Nouveau style, it is considered one of the most beautiful railway stations in Italy and has often been used as a movie set.
