10:30 AM – Depart from Osaka or Kyoto
Travel by vehicle to Nara City. Exact meeting point details will be provided after booking.
12:00 – 1:30 PM – Free time at Nara Park
Guests may explore nearby landmarks such as the exterior of Todaiji Temple and Kofukuji Five-Story Pagoda, or enjoy lunch at their own pace (meals not included).
2:00 – 3:30 PM – Festival atmosphere at the foot of Mount Wakakusa
Experience the daytime build-up of the Wakakusa Yamayaki Festival. Temporary stages and food stalls create a lively festival atmosphere with traditional performances and local snacks.
4:45 PM – Sacred Fire Ceremony at Kasuga Taisha Shrine
Witness the important Shinto ritual where the sacred fire is ceremonially lit, marking the spiritual beginning of the festival. Viewing may be from the surrounding area depending on crowd conditions.
5:05 – 5:40 PM – Sacred Flame Procession and Prayer Rituals
Follow the ceremonial procession as the sacred flame is carried toward the mountain, accompanied by Buddhist chanting and prayers.
6:15 PM – Fireworks Display
One of Nara Prefecture’s largest annual fireworks displays lights up the night sky, signaling the start of the evening’s main events.
