1️⃣ Shinkyo Bridge
A sacred vermilion bridge marking the entrance to Nikko’s spiritual area. One of Japan’s most photographed historic bridges and an iconic symbol of Nikko.
2️⃣ Rinno-ji Temple
Founded in the 8th century, this important Buddhist temple houses three large gold-leafed statues representing Nikko’s sacred mountains.
3️⃣ Nikko Toshogu Shrine
Nikko’s most famous shrine and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lavishly decorated and dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu. Don’t miss the famous “See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil” monkey carvings.
4️⃣ Futarasan Shrine
A serene Shinto shrine surrounded by towering cedar trees, dedicated to the deities of Nikko’s sacred mountains.
5️⃣ Taiyuin Mausoleum
The resting place of Tokugawa Iemitsu. Less crowded than Toshogu but equally impressive with intricate gold and black architecture.

A scenic lake formed by volcanic activity at the foot of Mount Nantai. Stunning views especially during autumn foliage season.
8️⃣ Kegon Falls
One of Japan’s top three waterfalls. Nearly 100 meters tall, it’s particularly dramatic in autumn and winter.
9️⃣ Ryuzu Falls
Known as “Dragon Head Falls,” this picturesque waterfall splits around a large rock, especially beautiful during fall foliage.
