Start with a ride through the city across to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, where you can take in the natural beauty of this special place as well as the surrounding area.
Next, visit Ryoanji, with its world-famous Zen rock garden that somehow says more with silence than words ever could. Then it’s time for the crown jewel—Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, one of the most iconic (and photogenic) temples in Japan. The shimmering gold leaf, mirrored perfectly in the still pond below, is a true “wow” moment.
