Jozankei Snow Lantern Path(Jan 27 - Feb 3)
A magical winter highlight in Hokkaido! Every year, over 1,000 snow candles line the trail to Jozankei Shrine, glowing softly against the snow. The warm candlelight blends with gentle onsen mist, crafting a dreamy, romantic vibe.
1. 12:00 Depart from Sapporo city center (private car/bus pickup at your hotel).
2. 13:00 Arrive at Jozankei Onsen Town: Lunch + optional 1-hour public onsen (≈1,000 JPY/person).
3. 15:00 - 17:00 Leisurely walk along Toyohira River & browse local souvenir shops (milk candy, onsen skincare).
4. 17:20 Enter Jozankei Shrine (ticket included: 500 JPY/person, free for ryokan guests), watch the 17:40 candle-lighting ceremony.
5. 18:00 - 20:00 Explore Snow Lantern Path: Walk through the snow candle corridor & "Forest of Wishes" digital light area.
6. 20:00 - 20:30 Dinner at Onsen Town (meal not included).
7. 21:00 Depart Jozankei, 21:30 Return to Sapporo.
On non-festival days, we recommend the following itinerary, which also features a 10-hour private car service.:
08:00–09:00 Pick-up & Transfer to Jozankei
Door-to-door pick-up; 60-min drive via Route 230 with a rest stop
09:00–11:30 Jozankei Winter Adventures
09:00–10:00: Snowy walk at Niken Park (snowy trails, frozen waterfalls, photo ops at Niken Bridge).
10:00–11:30: Optional paid activity (choose 1): snow rafting (winter-exclusive, 2 hours, with thermal gear) OR snowmobiling (1 hour, beginner-friendly).
11:30–13:00 Lunch & Onsen Break
11:30–12:15: Lunch at a riverside ryokan.
12:15–13:00: Soak in Jozankei Onsen (outdoor rotemburo with snow views; onsen fee not included).
13:00–15:30 Nature & Local Exploration
13:00–14:00: Forest trail hike (snowshoes available for rent; guided 45-min walk to ice formations).
14:00–15:30: Visit Jozankei Local Market (fresh seafood, miso, pickles, and winter snacks; ideal for souvenirs).
15:30–17:30 Return to Sapporo & Photo Stop
60-min drive back; 30-min photo stop at Odori Park/Sapporo TV Tower
17:30–18:00 Drop-off
