Mombasa: Tsavo East National Park Day Trip with Lunch

Discover the wildlife of Tsavo East National Park on a day trip from Mombasa or Diani. Visit a Maasai village, enjoy a game drive, and have lunch at Sentrim Tsavo East hotel.
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your coastal hotel in Mombasa or Diani. Pick up time foe one day safari is usually 4:30, then drive along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway, arriving at a local Maasai village. Here, the Maasai, dressed in traditional attire, will educate you on local African cultural practices and important traditions of the society. They will also perform exhilarating Maasai traditional dances and bead working. This village visit will last for less than 40 minutes and will provide you with a unique cultural exchange element.

Next, enter Tsavo East National Park via the Bachuma Gate. The driver will open the roof-top of your vehicle, ready for game viewing. Tsavo East National Park is one of the world’s largest game parks, famous for its huge herds of red elephants, man-eating lions, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, cheetahs, warthogs, antelopes, and many birds. There are also other animals present like leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, waterbucks, lesser kudu, duikers, caracals, gerenuks, and various species of monkeys.

Marvel at African wildlife and enjoy game viewing for about 5 hours. Visit Aruba Dam, a man-made dam located in the middle of the park, where a high concentration of animals can be observed during the dry season.

Afterwards, drive to the lodge for lunch. Lunch will be served in Sentrim Hotel, which has a waterhole where animals come to drink. Enjoy a delicious meal while directly having a beautiful sight of African wildlife at Sentrim hotel waterhole. After your lunch, have another game viewing while checking out of the park and drive back to your coastal hotel or cottage, arriving in the evening, at around 5pm.
