Description
This 3-day camping adventure takes you through Aberdare Park with game drives and waterfalls continuing with a boat ride on Lake Naivasha and a bicycle safari in Hells Gate, perfect for nature lovers!
Discover Kenya's incredible diversity on this 3-day journey combining highland wilderness, lakeside serenity, and dramatic gorges.
Day 1: Aberdare National Park - Wildlife & Waterfalls
Your adventure begins at Aberdare's Ark Gate with an exciting game drive through dense forests and open moorlands. Spot elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, warthogs, and unique highland birds like the grey crowned crane.
Next, take a nature walk to the tranquil Chania Falls, where you'll enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by lush vegetation and cascading water. In the afternoon, head to Reedbuck Campsite, watching for mountain reedbuck and antelopes along the way. Settle in for a freshly cooked dinner and stargazing under crystal-clear highland skies.
Day 2: Karuru Falls, Queen's Cave & Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, drive to Karuru Falls - Kenya's tallest waterfall at 273 meters. Explore on a nature walk, with optional trout fishing in the mountain streams. Continue to the mystical Queen's Cave, steeped in local legends and cultural history.
Exit Aberdare and journey to Lake Naivasha. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat ride exploring the lake's rich birdlife, watching hippos in the water, and spotting wildlife on Crescent Island's shores. Stay overnight at Fisherman's Camp right on the lakeshore - hippos often visit the shores (secured by electric fence - no worries ;), creating an authentic wilderness experience.
Day 3: Hell's Gate National Park
Wake to lakeside sounds and enjoy breakfast before heading to Hell's Gate National Park - a completely different ecosystem from the highlands. Embark on a unique bicycle safari through dramatic landscapes where zebras, giraffes, and antelopes roam freely.
Hike into Ol Njorowa Gorge, exploring narrow passages and towering cliffs formed by ancient volcanic activity. For adventure seekers, rock climbing at Fisher's Tower is available as an add-on. After a local Kenyan lunch, return to Nairobi with unforgettable memories.
